#19. Best Friends

This Conversation Will Help You…

  1. Identify who is their best friend
  2. Say why that person is their best friend & identify qualities they have
  3. Say why those qualities make them a best friend

Think About This First

  • Friends are one of the most important influences for young people, and this conversation provides the opportunity to discuss what are important qualities to have in a friend or best friend.

Having the Conversation

Start here:

Who is your best friend?

How long have they been your best friend?

What makes this friend different than your other friends?

How did this person become your best friend?

Continue:

What are some of the qualities that make them a best friend?

Do you think everyone has similar qualities they look for in a best friend, or are they different?

Is it important for your best friend to think you are also their best friend?

Keep Talking:

How many best friends can someone have?

Are there different types of best friends?

What qualities are most important for you in a friend?

Have those changed a lot since you were younger?

How have they changed as you have gotten older?
